Understand how to increase your chances of having a baby
In addition to being healthy, what else can help you get pregnant?
Sex of course - at the right time
We're talking about the 'fertile window' - days in a woman's menstrual cycle when pregnancy is possible. The 'fertile window' depending on the length of the menstrual cycle, which varies between women.
'fertile window' is the egg is released from the ovary (ovulation) and five days earlier. Sex (intercourse) during this gives you the best chance of getting pregnant.
A woman can get pregnant any time of the month.
A woman can only become pregnant on some days during her menstrual cycle
because the egg and sperm only live for a short time.
egg and sperm need to come together at the right time for conception to occur to create an embryo.
Ovulation is when a mature egg is released from the ovary. Egg then moves down the fallopian tube where it can be fertilized. If sperm is in the fallopian tubes when the egg is released, there is a good chance that an egg will be fertilized, creating embryos, which could grow into a baby.
Pregnancy is technically only possible if you have sex during the five days before ovulation or on the day of ovulation. But the most fertile days is three days before and including ovulation. Having sex during this time gives you the best chance of getting pregnant.
With 12-24 hours after ovulation, a woman can no longer become pregnant during the menstrual cycle because the eggs are no longer in. fallopian tube
there is almost no chance of getting pregnant if you have sex before or after the fertile window (but if you're not trying to get pregnant, do not rely on this - the best contraceptive choice!).
Knowing when you ovulate can help you plan for sex at the right time and increase your chances of getting pregnant. You can track your menstrual cycle on a graph, in a diary, or on-period tracker free app on your smartphone.
To know the length of your menstrual cycle, recording the first day you start bleeding (the first day of your period). It is day 1. The last day of your cycle is the day before your next period begins.
Some people think 'menstrual cycle' and 'period' is the same thing.
a period is when you bleed (or periods).
a menstrual cycle begins on the day when the period starts (day 1) and ends the day before the next period. The length of this cycle is considered normal if it is between 21 and 35 days. They can vary among women and from one cycle to the next.
If your periods are of different lengths (most women cycle is) you can work out the average cycle length.
The number of days in a woman's menstrual cycle can vary month to month. Period is not always regular. It can be useful to work out the 'average' cycle length, based on the length of three menstrual cycles, to predict when you are most likely to be ovulating.
If you add the number of days in three cycles and dividing the sum of the three, it gives you an average cycle length.
Example
Sarah tracked his last three menstrual cycles by calculating the time from the first day of the period, to the day before the next period.
Cycle 1 is 28 days; Cycle 2 is 32 days; Cycle 3 is 27 days
28 + 32 + 27 = 87
87 divided by 3 = 29
So the average length of the menstrual cycle Sarah is 29 days.
when you know the length of the average menstrual cycle, you can work when you ovulate.
Ovulation occurs about 14 days before your period starts.
almost every your fertile days is three days leading up to and including the day of ovulation.
Some women have very irregular cycles or find it difficult to work out the average cycle length. This can make it difficult to work when ovulation occurs. If it's all too hard, having sex every 2-3 days covering all the bases and increase your chances of getting pregnant.
This can help you work out your most fertile time. This is the day you might at least to get pregnant.
It can also estimate your due date if you become pregnant during your fertile days later.
Other ways to help you work when your ovulation is:
a few days before ovulation, you may notice mucus your vagina becomes clear, slippery and slick, and feels a bit like a white egg < / p>
this is. th markThe ovulation will occur. This is the best time to have sex, as the sperm travel more easily in this kind of slime.
You can use the kit predictor of a supermarket or pharmacy, to test your urine for signs of ovulation. If you start testing your urine a few days before your next day expecting to ovulate, a positive result means you will ovulate in the next 24 to 36 hours (1-2 days).
If you're trying to get pregnant, timing is everything. Dr Karin Hammarberg explained how to work when you are ovulating and the right time to have sex to increase your chances of getting pregnant.
Have sex as close as possible to the time of ovulation increases the chances of pregnancy.
If a woman has sex six or more days before she ovulates, the chance she would get pregnant almost zero.
If she has sex five days before she ovulates, her probability of pregnancy is about 10 percent.
If she has sex on the day of ovulation, or two days before, the chance of getting pregnant is around 30 percent.
These are average figures and depend on
